Your Journey, Your Pace

Helping Men Work Through Life’s Challenges With Greater Clarity, Confidence, and Perspective

Men often come to counselling for different reasons, and sometimes without being able to clearly name what is wrong. You may be dealing with anxiety, low mood, relationship strain, work or family pressure, past experiences, unhealthy coping habits, or simply a sense that something in your life needs to change. Restored Perspective Counselling offers a supportive, practical space to better understand what you are experiencing, work through the challenges in front of you, and develop tools that can help you move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

Common Reasons Why Men Seek Counselling

Anxiety & Overthinking

Constant worry, racing thoughts, tension, or feeling unable to switch off can become exhausting. Counselling can help you understand what is driving it and respond differently.

Depression & Low Mood

Feeling flat, disconnected, unmotivated, or unlike yourself can affect every part of life. Counselling can help you make sense of what is happening and find a way forward.

Trauma & Difficult Experiences

Past experiences can continue to shape how you think, feel, react, and relate to others. Counselling offers a safe place to work through what you have been carrying.

Relationship & Family Pressure

Conflict, disconnection, separation, parenting stress, or family tension can take a heavy toll. Counselling can help you gain clarity and improve how you communicate and cope.

Addiction & Unhealthy Coping

Alcohol, substances, gambling, or other habits can sometimes become ways of managing stress or emotional pain. Counselling can help uncover patterns and support healthier choices.

Life & Career Transitions

Career changes, retirement, loss, health concerns, or major life shifts can leave you feeling uncertain or stuck. Counselling can help you adjust, refocus, and move forward with clarity.

Approach & What To Expect

1

First Session

We’ll start by reviewing your intake information, talking about what brought you in, and getting a better understanding of what you’d like help with. Together, you and Mika will begin shaping an approach that fits your needs and goals.

2

Collaborative

Counselling is a conversation, not a lecture. Mika works alongside you to better understand what’s happening, explore different perspectives, and develop practical strategies that can support you both inside and outside of sessions.

3

Confidential

Your privacy is taken seriously. Sessions are confidential, with the limits of confidentiality clearly explained in the consent information you review before your first appointment.

4

At Your Pace

There is no expectation to talk about everything at once. You decide what you’re ready to explore, and sessions can evolve over time as your needs, priorities and circumstances change.

5

Personalized

There is no one-size-fits-all method to counselling. Mika draws from a range of evidence-based approaches and adapts the process based on the individual, the challenges you’re facing, and what feels most useful for you.

6

Session Format

Sessions are 60 minutes and are available either in person at the Vancouver office or by secure video, depending on availability and your preference.

New to Counselling?

Many men come to counselling without knowing exactly what to say or where to begin. That’s completely fine. You don’t need the right words, a diagnosis, or a perfectly defined goal. Sometimes simply knowing that something needs to change is enough of a place to start.

You don’t have to keep carrying everything alone.
